Engage in professional growth and leadership
Teachers continuously improve their professional practice, model lifelong learning, and exhibit leadership in their school and professional community by promoting and demonstrating.
a. Participate in local and global learning communities to explore creative applications of technology to improve student learning.
b. Exhibit leadership by demonstrating a vision o technology infusion, participating in shared decision making and community building, and developing the leadership and technology skills of others.
c. Evaluate and reflect on current research and professional practice on a regular basis to make effective use of existing and emerging digital tools and resources in support of student learning.
d. Contribute to the effectiveness, vitality, and self renewal of the teaching profession and o their school and community.
- As a student in a teacher education program, in the subject of Earth and Space Science, some apps that are useful are NASA, Solar Walk 3D, and Galaxy Collider. The NASA app is the best resource for Space information. Solar Walk 3D is a great interactive app that lets you see and move through space in a three-dimensional form. The Galaxy Collider app is what the students will love because they get a chance to create their own galaxy interactively.
- Using apps has changed the ways I function as a student/consumer because it is efficient and useful. It is a great way to learn hands-on and move through the whole solar system with my fingertips.
- I view smartphones and tablet apps as tools for both teachers and instructional devices for students. Using apps to teach students in engaging is a great way to make them interact and create. It will build their focus and support their learning.
Some apps that I think will be great for my classroom on the subject of space are:
- EdX is a website that offers courses and classes for the best understanding knowledge possible. It connects courses that are related to MIT, Harvard, Berkeley, and many other universities that are reliable.
